YBF Small Grants - Elevate Fund
Through our small grant programmes, we aim to equip our membership with the training, resources and financial support they need to increase overall capacity and develop a more sustainable future to benefit the young people from Brent.
This Fund has been set up to support smaller organisations. Projects can be for a wide remit as long as they fit under a category of education, employment, or environment.
You can only apply for this grant if you have not received one in the last 2 years. If you received a grant in 2022 it is unlikely that you will receive another grant on this occasion. This is to ensure that as many organisations as possible have the opportunity to access the funds.
There are two grant types in this Fund:
- Main grants: This is primarily to allow members with an annual income of less than £50,000 to build capacity building. This will fund salaries, rent of buildings, volunteer costs.
- Project grants: Members with an annual income of less that £150,000 can apply for funding for project delivery in Brent.
Criteria for Elevate Fund
- There must be at least three non-related Directors and a minimum of two bank signatories. A minimum of three Directors is highly preferable in terms of good governance.
- If your organisation is a limited company, YBF will need to be assured that the grant funding is not used for private profit and must benefit children and young people for charitable purposes.
- Funding a limited company that does not have a charitable or not for profit structure is done as an exception where there is a clear rationale and a gap that the grant will meet that cannot be met by another Member of Young Brent Foundation.
- Your annual returns should be up to date on the Charity Commission and Companies House as appropriate before submitting your applications.
- You can not be in receipt of John Lyons Charity Funding
